Andhra Pradesh is the state in the South India. The north-western portion of the state was bifurcated to form a new state of Telangana. In accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, Hyderabad will remain the de jure capital of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states for a period of time not exceeding 10 years. The new river-front proposed capital of Andhra Pradesh in Guntur district is Amaravati. It is called the "Rice bowl of India" because more than 75 percent of the crops that grow here is rice. The main cities are Vishakhapatnam, Guntur etc.
The famous places in the state are Anantagiri Hills, Araku Valley, Kailasa Giri, Visakha Museum, Bheemunipatnam Beach, Tyda Park, Katiki Falls etc. The cuisine of Andhra Pradesh is one of the spiciest of all Indian cuisines. Fish curry, brinjal curry, and Gongura pachadi the most popular dish of andhra pradesh. Kuchipudi is the state's best-known classical dance form.
